At OBC, we are a vibrant community of Christians of all ages, who are passionate about:

  • Loving Jesus – we want more of Jesus, and look to go deeper with God through studying the bible, worshipping together and pursuing the presence of the Holy Spirit.
  • Loving People – we want to love and serve people in our church, in our community and beyond.
  • Loving Oakham – we want to be a church who are fully embedded in, and committed to blessing, our local community, here in our town, Oakham and our County, Rutland.

“Multum in Parvo”
Our County, Rutland is the smallest in the UK and has a motto ‘multum in parvo, meaning much in little’. We love our small town and our little county and are committed to engaging with our community and helping it to flourish.
Isaiah 60 is a Bible passage that resonates strongly with us. It speaks of God declaring His glory and gathering people to the ‘small place’ – For us, we really believe this speaks about the way God is gathering people in Rutland. We are excited as we see both our church and town growing.
We are a Baptist Church affiliated to the Baptist Union of Great Britain and the East Midlands Baptist Association. We also link in with Freshstreams and the Evangelical Alliance and support the Baptist Missionary Society (BMS), Rutland Food Bank and Christians Against Poverty.
