Here at OBC, part of our core vision is to be a great place for children and young people. We believe that our children are a very precious part of God’s family and we want them to feel at home and have an amazing time with us as they grow in their faith.
On Sunday mornings, children have their own activities during our 10:45am service, though are very welcome at the 9am service as well.
• Adventure is our group for 0-4s
• Discover is for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2
• Explore is for children in Years 3-5
We usually start our services all together, with a time of sung worship. This is an open and relaxed time, with space for adults and children alike to respond and join in with the worship in whichever way they feel comfortable. Many of our children and young people gather together at the front to sing, dance and wave things!
After the opening worship time, our children leave the main service in their groups to begin their activities together. On your child/ren’s first visit, please go with them to register them. If you want to, you are very welcome to stay for a while, to help settle them in.
If you have a young baby and would prefer to keep your baby with you throughout the service, that’s perfectly fine.
Everyone who works with our children goes through a formal recruitment process, including a DBS check, and receives regular safeguarding training. For more details about our safeguarding policy, please click here.
